Center for Career Development News and Events

In these difficult economic times, it has become even more clear that doing an internship is a vital component in opening doors to a job after college.  Surveys all indicate that students who have completed successful internships (whether for credit or not) have a definite edge.  While your children are at home, discuss this with them and urge them to pursue an internship opportunity in a field of interest if they have not already done so.  We have many, many resources in our office (Center for Career Development) and they can seek opportunities on their own as well.  Encourage them to make an appointment with a counselor and to come in for help with resources and to develop or tweak a resume.

eRecruiting

Students are urged to go to mville.erecruiting.com to update their profile and search for jobs and internships.
They can upload a resume approved by our office and apply directly for opportunities posted.

Internships.com  is another good resource for internships and summer programs.

CHECK OUT our Center for Career Development for all kinds of helpful information and resources.

Any seniors who have not had their resumes approved by a counselor in the Center for Career Development must make an appointment. An approved resume, stamped and signed by a Career Development counselor, must be included in every senior’s portfolio.
Help will be provided from getting started through the final editing process.  Information and samples are available on our Student Services page.
