Esther Cohen has two new books just released this fall: Don’t Mind Me and Other Jewish Lies, illustrated by Roz Chast (Hyperion); and God is a Tree and Other Middle Age Poems (Pleasure Boat Studio).  "Don't Mind Me is a collection of True Lies that I'm hoping will make the reader laugh," Esther said.  God is a Tree is a poetry collection about what it's like getting older. They are poems as prayers. Both books are meant to describe what it's like for One Jewish Woman to get a little bit older."

Esther has also published two other novels, Book Doctor and No Charge for Looking. Currently, she is the Executive Director of Bread and Roses, the nonprofit cultural arm of Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union, the largest union in the United States, representing 1.8 million low-wage workers. Bread and Roses is the leading working people's cultural program in the country. She edited the book unseenamerica (HarperCollins), based on the photography exhibition of the same title, which has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, and Fast Company, on ABC World News Tonight and NPR, and in other media outlets.
